    McMillen Health is seeking a professional, creative, and energetic health educator to teach health education programs in-person and utilizing distance learning via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, and Google Meets. The successful applicant will hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in education, community health, health science or other health-related field and will have 2 years of teaching experience.

    This position will involve some day travel throughout Northeast Indiana with McMillen vehicles or mileage reimbursement.

    Responsibilities Include:

    Learn and present multiple health education programs to various groups aged PreK thru Senior Adults

    Design curriculum under the guidance of the Director of Educational Services and in conjunction with team members

    Adapt commercially available curriculum to ensure they are age and culturally appropriate

    Identify opportunities for development of new programs

    Other duties as assigned

    Requirements:

    Two years of successful teaching experience preferred

    Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

    Working knowledge and experience in the following: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, and Google Meets.

    Driver’s license required

    Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

    Bachelor’s Degree in education, health, nursing, or related field

    Teaching License or Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred

    Physical Demands:

    Physical demands include walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, and moderate lifting. Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand while actively presenting up to 7, 45-minute presentations per day. Ability to perform repetitive motion of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Specific vision abilities include the capability of viewing computer monitor for long periods of time. Lift and move heavy items, such as boxes containing books and other materials (up to 30 lbs.). Must have a valid driver’s license and willing to travel regularly for programming provided throughout Northeast Indiana.

    *Please note, this is a salaried, 9-month, position starting at $18.00-$20.00 per hour/$30,240 - $33,600 and does not include medical benefits.

Therefore, McMillen Health is seeking a Director of Educational Development and Implementation who will be directly responsible for overseeing McMillen Health’s Educational Development Department, which includes the following 10 positions:

    Job Summary:

    The Director of Educational Development and Implementation is responsible for leading the low-literacy curriculum development and design of custom resources developed for 3rd party organizations and overseeing the implementation of McMillen Health custom resources including the Brush Oral Health Program. This role involves overseeing the development of research and fact-based curricula, ensuring alignment with contracted goals, managing implementation of piloting developed curriculum, and implementing resources developed by McMillen Health. Resources developed by this department are for Medicaid serving organizations, including Head Start, Early Head Start, WIC, and more! The Director will collaborate with team members, third party organizations through Professional Advisory Groups (PAGs) and recipients of resources with End User Groups (EUGs), and funders to ensure project goals and objectives are met. This is a full time, 12-month salaried position and reports directly to the Director of Operations and Sustainability

    ***Please note, this position works with our Custom Resources, not our K-12 Preventive Health Education Programs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and oversee the design, low-literacy development, and implementation of McMillen Health’s custom educational resources developed for 3rd party organizations and McMillen Health. Which currently includes:

    • Oversee a team of Multimedia Specialists, Curriculum Developers, Trainers, and Administrative Assistants by providing guidance, mentorship, and support in low literacy curriculum development and delivery.

    • Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in health education and develop tailored resources to address specific community health priorities.

    • Collaborate with internal and external partners to establish resources and partnerships that enhance program effectiveness and outreach.

    • Develop and implement evaluation methods to assess resource impact and effectiveness, using data to inform decisions and improvements.

    • Ensure that all educational resources align with best practices and comply with relevant regulations and standards.

    • Prepare and manage the departmental budget, including the purchase of supplies for the development of interactive activities required for each educational resource developed.

    • Stay current with trends and research in health education, integrating new findings into resource development and delivery.

    • Represent McMillen Health at community events, conferences (local and national), and meetings to promote educational initiatives and build partnerships.

    • Other duties as assigned by Director of Operations and Sustainability and CEO. Qualifications:

    • Master’s Degree in Public Health, Education, Health Promotion, or a related field preferred; a bachelor’s degree with significant experience may be considered.

    • A minimum of 3 years of experience in educational program development and implementation, preferably in a nonprofit or public health setting.

    • Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising and developing staff.

    • Strong knowledge of health education principles, curriculum design, and evaluation methodologies.

    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.

    • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, including Medicaid serving organizations, community organizations, schools, and health providers.

    • Proficient in using data and technology to enhance program delivery and assessment.

    Compensation Package includes:

    • Salary: $70,000-$80,000 annually

    • Paid Time Off (PTO): 3 weeks annually, with the ability to roll over ½ to the next fiscal year

    Job Summary:

    McMillen Health is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Writing Coordinator to join our Educational Resource Development Department. The Writing Coordinator will aid in and guide low-literacy content creation, oversee the Curriculum Developer, and ensure standards and timelines are adhered to. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in educational writing, curriculum development, and experience in creating accessible and engaging learning materials for diverse populations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Curriculum Development Oversight:

    o Supervise and aid the Curriculum Developer in creating interactive, fun, and engaging, low-literacy educational resources.

    o Review and ensure that all curriculum resources meet the contract requirements, adhere to standards determined for the project, and meet the timelines given.

    • Content Creation Guidance:

    o Lead the development of clear, concise, and engaging educational content that adheres to best practices in low literacy writing.

    o Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather and integrate relevant information into the curriculum as needed by attending Professional Advisory Group (PAG) meetings as requested.

    • Writing Standards and Quality Assurance:

    o Maintain writing standards and guidelines for low literacy content. o Review and edit materials created by the curriculum developer to ensure clarity, accuracy, and appropriateness for the target audience and project goals.

    • Training and Support:

    o Provide training and ongoing support to the Curriculum Developer and other team members on low literacy writing techniques and strategies. o Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and creativity in content development.

    • Evaluation and Improvement:

    o Develop assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of educational materials and their impact on target audiences. o Analyze feedback and data to continuously improve curriculum resources and instructional methods.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Public Health, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in curriculum development, educational writing, or instructional design, with a focus on low literacy education.

    • Strong understanding of best practices in writing for low literacy audiences.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    Description

    The Scheduler is responsible for scheduling all McMillen Health programs for schools, community organizations, etc. which may be contracted, fee for services, or grant funded. This position is a full-time 10-month hourly position and reports directly to the Director of Educational Services.

    Responsibilities

    ·        Answers phones and responds to voicemails.

    ·        Generates e-mails as requested and for scheduling purposes. Follows up on responses to e-mails. 

    ·        Takes direction from Lead Scheduler in scheduling all program classes – work closely with Director of Educational Services and other scheduling staff.

    ·        Ensure grant funded programs and contracted schools are scheduled within given timeframe.

    ·        Corresponds with schools, organizations, etc. 

    ·        Coordinate and distribute teacher information related to scheduled programming.

    ·        Organizes and coordinates educator scheduling folders. 

    ·        Responsible for McMillen Health Reservation System scheduling entries for all programming information. 

    ·        Responsible for McMillen Health’s Mom and Me Days. 

    ·        Actively supports and promotes the organizations strategic and operational plans.

    ·        Actively supports all efforts to increase cooperation, communication and collaboration between and among staff members and volunteers.

    ·        Demonstrates sound time-management skills by effectively and efficiently organizing, prioritizing and completing multiple assignments in a timely manner.

    ·        Maintains strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

    ·        Understands importance of seeking resolution to issues by working toward a solution in a timely manner.
